I always feel like I should support this race as a more club-runner friendly alternative to the GMR.
The quality of the field seems to alternate. A quick look at the starting line up told me I wasn't going to be 4th this year.
After 5 years the organisers have finally got the 2-lap course right to avoid the previous lapping problems and despite some dreary views it is good to run on closed roads against some decent competition. It was rather windy but especially on the 2nd lap this almost seemed to push us along and for perhaps the first time ever I managed a negative split as I worked up through the field.
Club names seemed to be often missing in the results so I may have missed someone. It was good to see lots of parkrunners doubling their distance as well.
