Over 170 runners turned up despite the icy rain and very muddy conditions. Sporting a combined age of over 100, Malcolm and Tom put on an exciting race at the front of the field. Younger challengers came and went in the first lap but going into the second the Wilmslow vets were pulling away. Malcolm is still struggling for speed and Tom managed to hold the lead for most of the race. Malcolm eventually came through on the cross country sections but was being chased down by Tom towards the end. Determined as ever Malcolm held on and Tom had the consolation of taking the V55 course record by over 10s (from Len Best of Stockport) – Tom remains 2nd in the all time age graded results behind the older Len. Not to be outdone Geoff Gilbert produced a good run with 30s off his course PB – good going in the mud.
On 19th December we are holding a Xmas special – running as Santa and fancy dress – 9am run as usual. There is food and fun after in the cafe (£3.50 breakfast ticket – see Clare) – it's a Nick Bishop Production. As always everyone is welcome in the park.
