Perfect conditions and a flat course encouraged some fast running. I faded slightly in the last k and with a few waves and smiles for the cameras just failed to break 33 (chip time was 33:00) – but chipped another 3 seconds off the club records. Jim produced his best run since this time last year to PB by nearly 30s. With a negative split Jim was allegedly gaining on me rapidly in the final stages. It was great to see Mike Halman starting to regain his old pace. Trevor was not far behind and put all the Wilmslow runners on the first page of the results. I estimate that our team finished an excellent 2nd to Horwich RMI in a high quality field.
