The men were defending champions and the ladies this season are just getting stronger and stronger .
First off were the ladies and as always everyone ran their socks off .
Results are already on the CCAA website http://www.cheshireaa.com/ . We also had to cheer on the teams Paul , Dave , Tony and Ian ( Kasey's boyfriend) .Thanks all.
Vicky was first home and an excellent 6th with Clare one place behind : Clare was unable to count for us but another great run by our now inseparable pair on the country !
Great to have Jane running and she was soon finishing after the deadly duo in 14th!
Clare Hawkes continued her great recovery in 20th and then came Captain Kate in 23rd with Nicki not far behind in 24th.
The emerging Kasey completed the team finishing 37th ….Kasey the Nationals are just brilliant !

Finally it was the defending county champions to do their stuff ….this year without Damian and Rob …was the task too great ?
Big Malc ran a cracker for 4th with Jim 12th…there is a waiting list to find out from Jim what he is taking such has been his imperious form these last 12 months.
The evergreen Tom was next home in 15th with Trevor and Stuart on his tails , 22nd and 23rd. Five in …..who next : Mr dependable Mike Cooper , 37th and a sprint finish to capture another place .
Ray Eagle was back and as always as solid as ever in 44th , Ian and Don gave great support , 54th and 74th and Trevor was his reliable self again coming away with a medal.

First photo album now uploaded , look under the photos on the left and scroll to the bottom and 2009 Cheshire XC. If I missed you, run more slowly next time : Don has some pix also .
In the words of my old school teacher;
You’re performance today was excellent. You all put in lots of effort. Well Done!
But…… It was far from perfect. You didn’t win and I know you will do better next time!
Don’t suppose teachers are allowed to say such things nowadays in case it upsets the kids!
Incidently I’ve just worked out that if all the men were just one second per mile quicker we would have won the team prize easily!
Interesting !
We forget what we have achieved these last few years but agreed winning is best . Its always a moving feast as we were two down on last years team and yet lost by three points in retaining the County Championships.
One thing for sure and the reason for our success : Come training on Tuesday we will have 40 / 45 out training irrespective of conditions …..Whats more they will all be smiling but training hard .
Roll on Tuesday.
