It was another freezing morning in the park. I managed to win for the first time for a while although for much of the race I was struggling to stay ahead of Stacey Ward (Basildon AC) who set a new female course record of 17:41.
This week it was Ian Smallwood's turn to suffer against diminutive opposition as both Mollie and another junior sped past him on the home straight.

Unfortunately I had to stop twice to retie my laces, thus lodged a slower time. However I was definately outsprinted, by the younger generation. Maybe I should stick to veteran races in the future.
