Exciting times ahead

As Autumn brings a change in temperature and some crisp sunny days our thoughts move to winter and cross country .

As a club we had our most successful year ever last year over the "country". This year we have some newly registered runners and we have some real opportunties to have another very exciting winter.
All of our regular runners are looking in top form and we always welcome anyone from the club who wants to try out the thrills and spills of cross country .

We have two teams entered in a curtain raiser this Saturday : The Manchester University XC relays at

The University Playing fields, Willenhall Road , Wythenshawe , M23 0BD.

The races start at 2.00.

In the mens team we have Malc , Jim , Mike C , Tom , Stuart and Ray .
The ladies have Vicky , Clare and Sue .

Two great teams and support is always welcome .

First Mcr League race is at Heaton Park Manchester : Saturday 25th October which is the warm up for Mike and Sallys bash.

Saturday 21st February is the date for the National XC Championships at Parliament Hill London. Its an awesome experience : just ask some that ran for the first time last year ! Already I feel that there is the appetite to go by a small mini coach and have an overnight stop : a  bit  of refuelling  after  the event !

Tony has a number of plans for the winter including the SS prsentations .
We are also starting to make plans for our Christmas/ New year party on Saturday 3rd January at AECC.

Please can I remind all that "interim subs" are now payable to Dave Read . Thank you .

I have been working away these last two weeks but hope to see some of you Saturday or at training Tuesday . For now it will be as a spectator as I await a date for an MR scan on a return of the 2006 "hernia". Its  bad news  when the  kids  have  to pull  you out of the arm chair !

I am fortunate that we have a club full of talented athletes that I can enjoy  watching  and delivering "PBs" week after week !!

Well done all !!

Enjoy your running and most importantly have fun .

Regards,
Nick.
