Ron Reed ("Rocket") sucessfully completed the Wilmslow half in 3 hours 13 minutes. He is the first V80 to finish the event. His magnificent achievement left the organisers struggling to find a suitable prize! Ron set off slowly from the rear of field (3500 runners) and progressed steadily round the course. By 11 miles his legs were dead, but his determination drove him onwards. From mile 12 Tony, who had run out from the finish, coaxed him along to the finish.
