Somehow I seemed to have got missed on Nick’s emails about not going to leeds ! However I felt a little eliteist at the start having a pen to myself whilst all around other teams were crammed into their slots. Three undulating laps , Tony had commented on Friday about a big hill , third time round it did feel big. Ground was dry and firm and could have been tackled in road flats. Nice day out pleased with position compared to known runners around me. 1 D Webb Leeds 37.07 157 S Parrott Wilmslow (50 points) 45.17
Leeds won mens team managing to get all 6 in the top 20 (something for us to aim for at Wythenshawe).
Nick adds : great performance Stuart and we will be gunning for Wythenshawe Pk as you rightly say : so too the ladies who are in an awesome position : 2nd !!!!
We then aim to finish on a high with the Nationals at Alton Towers 23rd Feb .
I have received an invite to the Wilf Richard XC Relays at Heaton Pk , Saturday 16th Feb : Four legs for men and three for ladies . If we are to enter teams , we need to ensure we have sufficient ok to run. Those interested , please contact Kate and myself . Thanks .
Both the men and ladies were struggling for the Northerns coming a week after the 4V and with a number of regulars N/A. Clearly our focus now is on the final Mcr& DCCL race and it was decided to focus on that once it became apparent that we did not have sufficient for full teams .
Good luck to all running at Alsager : Sunday 3rd February : A fast flat course and a Cheshire GP race.
Once the XC season is finished , we will be arranging an end of season hot pot supper ( similar to last year ) : what we celebrate is yet to be decided but rests with us to determine when we race the final event …….Saturday 9th February at Wythenshawe Pk .
Lets make it a mass `of blue and gold : runners and spectators !!!
