We were in London for the weekend and I took the chance to experience one of these popular free 5ks that are now run every Saturday at 9am in several London parks (http://www.parkrun.com/). Richmond Park was beautiful in the winter sunshine and surprisingly wild and undulating. The race route followed mainly good gravel paths and finished close to the coffee shop. There was a lead bike to save me getting lost and the whole thing was very well organised. It was a really friendly event and a great way to start the weekend.
The overnight rain had left some large puddles but being more acclimatised to mud I was able to stride through and record a rare victory.
