Below are the provisional results from the final race of the season.
Champions of Division One Veterans category and nudged out of third place in Division One by Salford . What a seaon !!
Some confusion surrounded the presentation ceremony as the frozen fingers of the officials tried to calculate final placings .
What is in no doubt is the winning of the Veterans Category. Salford claimed third place in the Seniors event behind Sale(1st) and Trafford(2nd). Fourth place for Wilmslow to be confirmed.
Final placings.
Malcolm claimed 1st Vet 40 and Rob 2nd Vet 40.
Nick managed 2nd Vet 45.
Gavin we hope may have sneaked a place in the Vet 55 category but the damp and cold waiting got the better of us and with some administration difficulties encountered , we decided to head for home , trophy in hand for displaying at the Club. A picture was taken by an obliging bystander who promised to forward the shot to Running Bear .

Despite some frights about numbers on Friday night , we actually fielded a very strong team , great to see Stuart running and doing so well. Colin made a very welcome appearance which was well timed to mask the stinker that yours truly had !! Rob who arrived to spectate and nursing an injury ,ended up running and as always did very well.
Ian and Gavin were as reliable as ever and ran as consistently well as always .
So the end of a succesful Manchester League season and thanks and very well done to all that contributed to the results : Damian Nicholls , Dave Quinn, Gavin Mendham, Ian Smallwood, Jeff Capper, Malcolm Fowler , Mike Cooper , Mike Halman, Nick Bishop , Paul Ayres, Peter Carne , Ray Eagle, Richard Parris , Rob Downs , Stuart Parrott , Tom McGaff , Trevor Faulkner .
We actually had three spectators over the season , Tony , Simon and Sally . Thanks !
Good luck to those running at Wistaston tommorrow and then it’s Woodbank on the 15th .
Nick.
