If you don’t understand the map reference don’t worry, you’ll do great at orienteering. To get there – from Macclesfield take the A523 Leek road, and just out of the town centre turn left over the railway bridge (signposted Langley, Wincle, Sutton). Keep left towards Langley, and follow the road to the Leathers Smithey pub, turn right alongside Ridgegate Reservoir, past the Trentabank visitors centre. Continue for 1 mile, turn left at the T junction and the Standing Stone car park is just on the left. If you start to go downhill you’ve gone too far. Maps will be provided.
