The second of the North Cheshire 5K GP Series was on Saturday 4th June . This was not a Club Summer series race ( unlike Dunham 5K and Bowdon 5k which were also the first and third of the 5K series ) .
The fourth of the series is a repeat at Dunham this Friday ( 17th ) with the final race at Lymm ( Saturday 25th ). Best four races qualify .
Hollins Green is a leafy village to the east of Warrinton near Glazebrook . The course was all road although after leaving the village it was similar to Chrisleton , corn fields and country lanes . A good 5k loop .The usual discussion afterwards suggested that the course is quicker than Dunham but that Bowdon is the quickest in the series . A couple of undulations but nothing more .
Warming up before I bumped into Sally who like me had decided to enter the five race series . A good result as Sally was 1st L40 and won a pair of shorts while myelf as 1st M45 won three bottles of red wine . In my absence at the prize giving I have Sally and her husband Ian to thank for collecting my prize . Good call Sally , short’s dont pour into a goblet that well !!
162 runners . Winning time 15.07 .
17th Nick Bishop . 17.06
68th Sally Gilliver . 19.34
158th Ian Gilliver . 29.03 .
Cheers .
