Planned Maintenance at WRC

Just to repeat Simon’s message from Tuesday night for those who weren’t there or missed it, regarding two forthcoming maintenance projects:

Track.
We propose to alleviate the ponding on the track at the Bluebell Wood end by installing land drains which will run off down to the river Bollin. The works are scheduled for week commencing 10th September. Once they are complete Paul Sanders will reinstate any missing or broken timber edge kerbs.

Ladies’ Changing Room.
There has been evidence of dry rot in the door frame into the ladies’ changing room for some time. We propose to strip out that door, the front door and the timber panelling on the right hand side in the external passage. The panelling opening will then be bricked up. The works are scheduled to start week commencing 24th September and will take two weeks if the rot has not spread in to the roof timbers. It is then proposed we redecorate the ladies’ changing room, so the ladies could be without changing facilities for three weeks unless an alternative arrangement can be struck with the Rugby Club – within the main building for example.

We would like to involve the ladies in things like the colour scheme and any suggestions that would improve the facility which could be carried out at the same time. I recall new shower curtains were being mooted some time ago for example but that may well have been resolved now. These suggestions would be best going through Janine Ellis – by the 7th September please.

Thanks

Simon
