Club Race Series – a possible addition

We would, if you think it a good idea, propose to include the first race of the cross-country season on Saturday October 13th.

Jan, and I think Mark, suggested the Gin Pit 5. It solved two problems. Firstly, we lost a number of the off-road races that we had planned, because they clashed with the Cheshire Grand Prix Series. Secondly it filled a big gap in October.

However, Nick tells us that Gin Pit clashes with cross-country.

So why not include the cross-country race?

The difficulty is that the men and ladies run separate races over different distances.

Solution. We will have the men’s positions, we will have the ladies positions, we just need to integrate them.
Suggestion. We look, for the two races overall, at how the times compare. If, for instance, the ladies’ times are on average 30% lower than the men’s time then, for the purpose of allocating points, we add 30% to our ladies’ times.

We would then have:-

Boars Head                   Wed June 6th.
Race the Train              Sun June 10th.
Colshaw 10k                  Sun June 17th.
Buxton 4.7m                 Wed June 27th.
Rudyard Lake               Thu July 5th.
Bollington Nostalgia    Sun. July 8th.
Forest 5                           Wed July 18th.
Pie & Peas                       Wed Aug 1st.
Bollington 10k                Sun Aug 26th.
Sun Sep 2nd. As a result of the postponement of the Trafford 10k we have both it and the South Cheshire 20 mile. The 20 miler, as a Cheshire Grand Prix race, takes priority for points.
Macclesfield Half         Sun Sep 23rd.
Cross-country               Sat Oct 13th.
Langley 7                       Sat Nov 3rd.

Ian…The first MACCL date is Saturday 13th per the update below. We don’t use Sundays…We go with designated dates from EA, to avoid Championship events etc…Thus no clash if people want a double header!
