Wednesday 16 June 2004, 21oC. About 7.5 miles, with 354m ascent. It is now about half a mile shorter, with slightly less ascent, than when I last ran this in 2000.

Kinder Trog
Sunday 20 June 2004, 10oC. Variously described as 15-18 miles, with 3250 feet of ascent. An extra 280 feet of ascent was added this year, to avoid a ‘no go’ area. The race ascends Lantern Pike from Hayfield, then moves over to Kinder Downfall and the ridge at Chinley Churn before returning to Hayfield. Conditions were good, and I ran slowly before going off route off the last hill, and had to run an extra 1.5 miles along the road to get back, feeling rather stiff.
