Who’s in the Saddle or on the road?

A bit late this week. Sorry. But what has been happening out and about recently?

PaulN has been running and cycling regularly – maxing out at 51k – and has made use of the 6 party-size to do reps at Jim Evison with Di and his Bramhall soulmate PaulG; as well as family runs.

Tim has been out and about Alderley and Lyme Park getting lost with RichardHa and mixing it with Pete at Lyme Park – ignoring cows. Tim and Richard chose the Carrs for reps.

Rob whilst rescheduling Mobberley and Wizard races still had time to get out and about and spot:

Curlews, woodpeckers, llamas; catching the battle of the, flock of starling Vs buzzard, curlews and a greater spotted woodpecker – so many thrills on the way to New Mills.

He’s rebuffed offers of joining the Countryside team choosing to try for wildlife photographer of the year whist seeking out the ancient tribe of Hillbillies said to be roaming the Derbyshire hills.

He may have competition as Deer Spotter Jan and Moo-ster Tim are actively seeking out photo opportunities.

Lots of cycling being done – but enough said about that – you know who you are; and WhatsApp group you are in! Though Mick managed to get soaked on one of his outings!

Those WhatsApp groups are very closed – don’t like the Press to join. We have to rely on whistle-blowers!

Laura’s looking after her PF by having family walks and cycle rides – a few virtual. And the occasional dip outside in someone’s lake. Whilst Jarod chooses elypticaling [?] and swimming to nurture his recovery. KatyG is one who mixes cycling and running to keep sane. IanR forced himself out for a 10k.

GrahamD had a few wobbles on his bike – so got back into his running shoes and polished a 30k+ run. Gareth made it out this week too. MarkB struggled with his fitbit!

The usual suspects on the WRC Strava League: Rob leading on distance, time and climbs. Dan and PeterS are second and third on distance. Dan and RichardC second and third on time. Tim an Damian on Climbs. Looks like Rob, Dan and Peter are on track for the 1-2-3 distance this week too.

Injured? Rebecca has said that you get in touch with her if you want a hand with some strength training or low impact cardio (other than cycling)!

Only in America. I was intrigued about reading that a trio of penguins were given a private tour of an Art gallery in Kansas City. The CEO of the zoo said the animals were missing human company and hoped that wandering through the Nelson-Atkins Museum’s empty galleries would stimulate enrich them. The head of the museum said afterwards that the penguins seamed to react much better to Caravaggio than Monet!

Sport. Still can’t wait to see what happens when football returned. In the Bundesliga it’s hard to win at home. Current stats show. In May the results were 8 Home wins 10draws 17 away wins. To date (13th) in June the stats show 3H 5D 10A. Interesting!

Looks like the end of the 100 favourite races and the poetry corner as no one has sent anything in!! 🙁
