Park run results 25th January 2020

Well the last park run of January saw 31 club runners run at 12 parkrun events.

Singletons included Sharon at Warrington where she was first lady home and PB’d, beating her New Years day PB by 17 seconds. And with a great AG too – topping the AG table. GrahamS returned to Delamere after 6 years absence and PB’d, whilst RichardHi returned to Cheltenham – but couldn’t beat his PB the last time he ran. Rebecca first timed in Birmingham with a brisk 21 minute run. RichardLa took time to put in some XC practice at Macclesfield. Ex member Sarah is beginning to run there now.

At Wilmslow we had 11 club runners. Peter and DiMcV (6^th overall) were first male and female runner to finish. They were 80%+ with AG and were joined by Trevor and Mick to make it that WRC runners were the four top AG runners with Di’s being the highest! Excellent. We had 5 runners in the first 10 finishers: Jim 4^th, Mike 9^th and Trevor 10^th joined Peter and Di.

A little back was ColinC, days after successfully furniture modelling Sofas for the newly formed LFS team [DFS beware!!] , supported by Laura – who volunteered yesterday as she still hasn’t recovered from her 100^th run and subsequent injury. Colin just pipped Mick by 2 seconds. Mick turned in an almost identical time when he last ran in December – just 1 second slower. He was followed by DiBy who led the family home, leaving Jeremy to escort Ava round.

Couch to 5k anyone!!

JohnP scampered round and finished 1 second ahead of Ava! John had his fastest run since October 2018. Not forgetting AlanT – he looked good tackling the hills on Tuesday; well he had his fastest time since February 2017.

At Bramhall there were 5 runners. PaulG was first club runner to finish, then IanS; both had brisk fastest Bramhall time since February 2017.runs. MarkC celebrated his 100^th Park run with his fastest time since February 2017., finishing 1 second ahead of PaulN – did he pace the centurion around? Well apparently not – he is suffering from a quad injury picked up at the Alderley trail run last weekend!! Hopefully it is not something serious. Janine tail-ran, helping some first timers around the park.

RichardHa PB’d at Wythenshawe and was first runner home, GrahamD was fourth with a very quick time too.

Other people tried out Alexandra Park ahead of the commencement of the parkrun competition. Three first timers.  Oliver added another parkrun to his collection, Nicky ran her fastest time on our shores for just over a year with a fabulous AG; and Don – I think – ran his fastest for a couple of years!

At Lyme Park, ChrisC practiced being a 30 minute pacer, Jill first-timed and Carolyn chose this course to escape from the paparazzi pestering her for interviews and photos!! Hope the breakfast was satisfactory.

Huma! What can I say. At busy Stretford she ran sub 23 her fastest since her PB in May 2016! Fantastic. Roy returned to Didsbury and PB’d beating his October time! Ian started the race but perhaps Roy’s pace proved too much and he had to retire! Hope that’s a one-off.

So many fast runs and PBs and AGs – there’s something in the air! Oe more likely the impact Nick’s training is having on you.
