Hi!
There was no resting for some of you: Xmas day park runs then the Handicap run in the mud, then more parkruns – some of you were so determined to run off the mince pies. Well done.
In all 24 of you ran at 12 parkrun events – the last parkruns of the decade. 2020 is coming!
PaulG travelled all the way to Wales for his annual December Mumbles run. IanS chose a new course to run -a Christmas castle was his surroundings. Janine first timed in central Lancashire – somewhere near Bamber Bridge and was 3rd Lady finisher. That was bettered by RobJ who ran his Christmas Run in Sutton Coalfield finishing first home. He PB’d with a fantastic 16:49 – but a word of warning! It looks too good to be true – and it is accredited with “(assisted)”; so perhaps some reindeer pulled him round! No doubt he’ll let us know? JohnP must have liked the handicap so much he followed it with a solo run around Worsley Woods – a nice loli-pop course, I remember: out, around the woods, and back. RichardLa another handicap mud-liker chose Lyme Park which interestingly (or not!) had the same turn out (190) at Didsbury where another handicap mud lover and Richard – RichardHa – ran close to his first time there in August.
The Usual Suspects returned to Bramhall. Rob and Barry had quick times being 3rd and 5th finishers. Rob is so consistent, he seems to like running 18:09. That’s the 4th time in 6 months. He’s mostly around this time +/- 10 seconds. He also had an AG of 84.66%. Barry had his fastest time since June. PaulN and GrahamS put in quick runs and MarkC ran his fastest time there for 20 months!! No daughters with Rob after the handicap but MrsD chased Rob around for company. Not such a large turnout there as Christmas Day – but at least they had enough tokens to hand out!
DiMcV and TrevorM were at the busiest event. Di was quick , first lady finisher, and with her fastest time for over a year!! 18:16 and an AG of 85.49%. Trevor not too far behind – and with an AG of 84.09% !!
Another fast lady and first lady finisher was SharonJ, at Macclesfield, with Oliver not too far behind. ChrisC and Carolyn were out and ex-member ShazzaJ accompanied, and chatted with, Carolyn around the hills. Not sure if Chris can get breakfast there!
That just leaves Wilmslow. No record breaking crowd as there was Christmas day. Not a big Club runner turnout too! Quickish runs from MikeH, BrianM and Matt who finished in 7th, 8th and 10th place. Mike looked like he was taking part in the persil white shirt experiment?
There was a rare appearance from MickF who had a time not far off his Jan 2018 time! He also had an AG of 80.77% and was just ahead of AndrewC. Jan ran another one of her consistent times – sub 25. Followed closely by Nicky, who having the extra hour in bed by not having to get the Turkey out of the oven at 7:00am, decided to just stretch her legs and save herself for her next park run which will be her 100th! Will that be on New Years day?
New Years day – I wonder will we have any Lyme Park and Wilmslow doubles?
