Whilst some people were in bed, others desperate for points were presumably resting for Bollington Nostalgia; and another was on her way to become a Centurion – 24 club runners ran at 9 parkrun events on Saturday. Busiest and least busiest in Yorkshire: Leeds (497) and York (140).
As usual the Travelling Johnstones were at it – this time in Leeds. Sharon with a strong run, Oliver adding another course to his impressive total so far [now 36]. Yorkshire also saw AndrewG first time, with a fast run, slightly further away at Wakefield. IanS returned to York and ran strongly too.
At Bramhall, Roy returned to improve his 2019 time, whilst the battle of the Downs family and the Pauls resulted in Rob third home with his fastest time for 3 months and a massive AG of 85.21% ahead of Juliet, first lady finisher and 6th to finish, who has run a consistently steady fast time, under her previous PB, since breaking that PB 3 months ago.
JohnP ran at Sale, saving himself for Bollington [?], and took it easy! RobJ at Wythenshawe ran his fastest Parkrun since last September, Angie, ran her fastest since her PB in 2015! Her AG of 77.07% was her highest ever! Brilliant form at the moment.
Close by at Lyme Park JamesS was pushed all the way and finished first home by 1 second from one of the locals. The Butty brigade ChrisC and RichardHi turned up and Chris paced Richard comfortably round – perhaps saving themselves for Bollington. Stephen made it two parkruns on the trot, again he too was a little slower than last time – Bollington preparation?
Finally, Wilmslow. Under the direction of Nicky, with AndyW, Don, LauraF and ColinC helping marshalling; 9 club runners ran. Sam was first Wilmslow runner home [4th] been pursued by Trevor [an AG of 81.14%]; Similarly GrahamD was harried by AndrewC. Markus, closing in on 100 runs, was a little further behind; as was MikeH – who was either pacing 24 minutes or saving himself for Sunday. LauraF, pacing 26 minutes had Jan and SueS company. Jan got under, and Sue just over with her fastest since last October.
