Simon Fenton

Simon Fenton (1943 – 2019)

Sadly, we have lost a great man and runner. He brought sunshine to the runs and races he appeared at. Offering advice and comfort; and always someone you could turn to if you needed a route to run. As a tribute to such a great guy we have put the following together in the hope it brings back warm memories to those who have met, and those who knew him well.

  1. I remember Simon from the very first night I came to the club in 2003, the end of the session was a relay and I was on his team, I was rubbish but he was so encouraging. Over the years we have run in the same group for most of the time, he was always supportive, encouraging, competitive, funny, and just great person to be with. We’ll miss him, he has left a big hole in the club. God bless you Simon xxx

  2. Lots of good memories involving Simon. One of my favourites is seeing him and Roy doing intervals along the bypass, with a combined age of around 140 years! We all loved you, pal.
