Elspeth writes… The parkrun competition has seen very little change this month, maybe the start of the summer holiday season has affected the numbers? Most members running have revisited courses they have previously completed within the competition and the most important course for qualification, Lyme Park, has seen no new runners this month at all.
As most members have now paid their annual subs we now know who has continued their membership, so we have lost 8 runners from the parkrun stats, although most of these still show as Wilmslow Running Club on their parkrun accounts.
Currently we now have a total of 64 members who have now joined the competition with 43 runners completing either one of two courses from the following: Congleton, Bramhall, Wythenshawe, Wilmslow, Burnage, South Manchester, Stretford and Lyme Park
Ian Smallwood, Andy Whittingham and Simon Fenton have all completed 3 courses, both Andy and Simon need to run at Lyme Park for qualification, however Ian can pick one of the other courses as he has already tackled Lyme Park.
Jarrod Homer, Sharon Jones, Richard Hirons, Alan Turner and Sharon Johnstone have all run four courses but they have not yet completed the compulsory course at Lyme Park, maybe next month?
Jan Wyles remains on 5 courses, Catherine Mellor has increased her total to 6 and Trevor Morris has completed 7 courses, so all three have still not succumbed to visiting Lyme Park for their summer series points.
We have only one qualifier this month, but what a qualifier, the one and only Roy Pownall! Well done Roy, not only has he qualified this month but also increased his total courses to five. Patrick has also joined Tony and Mark in completing all 8 courses. Ian Ashcroft and John Porteous now have 7 in the bag so to complete the full 8, Ian needs to head for Congleton and John to South Manchester. At the end of July, the parkrun table is as follows:

Notable runs this month have been from Sharon Johnstone, 1st Lady at both Congleton and Wythenshawe and Barry Archbold took 1st finisher at Bramhall.
