Manchester Area Cross Country League : Heaton Park

Another big field in both the Senior Ladies and Senior Men's Races.

With the 4V clash, our own numbers were a little down, but well done to those that managed the double!

Work was carried out on the Thursday before the race to clear the course of obstructions, although one large tree still remained. A steeple chase! With the overnight freeze, much of the ground was firm but there were still stretches of mud. Heaton park, has something in it for all. Undulating hills, woodland copses and a relatively fast course.

By the time the men ran, the snow was in the air, and actually came down later in their race.

Rob led the men home, while Katy Green turned the clock back with a vintage display!

Its a tough League and competition is strong. This year with three divisions, there is much to run for at Wythenshawe Park (Saturday 13th Feb), be that for individual prizes or Club positions.  Once results are verified and corrections made, the position will be more clear.

I have reserved 20 tickets for the presentations and food post Wythenshawe Park.

For now provisional results are at www.race-results.co.uk

Both Men's and Ladies teams placed 8th, with Vets Teams second.
