City of Salford Womens 5.25 mile race – Sun 27th November 2005

Six of us turned up to do this race and we all a good run. The course includes sections on a busy main road and there are a couple of gentle hills but it was well marshalled so there was no problem following the route or with traffic.

Sally ran one of her best ever races and came in 10th place (3rd counter for the team), Jane and myself watched in delight as she stormed into the finish, and then had to support her as she was about to collapse!  Jane and I ran together almost all the way pushing each other on to get a good way ahead of the 5th & 6th runners.  Nicky, Julie and Penny all did good times.

We were all placed within the top 39 places out of 218, not bad going.  The team prize was ours by quite a large margin and we picked up a lot of prizes which included 8 bottles of wine, vouchers, socks and two engraved plates.
