SUMMER SERIES
The Gun Run on Tuesday July 12th will be in the Summer Series. Start and finish at Swythamley and Heaton community centre, Swythamley, Map ref SJ 965 632
Start time 7.15pm 9k approx
Will replace the Sale Sizzler July 14th as the 9th race in our series. Reasons:- It’s more interesting, more of a challenge, and we have already done 3 5k races.
LOCATION from Wincle go through Danebridge across the river towards Meerbrook then take the first right and it is approx 1 mile
ROUTE I’ve been round the course and it will definitely give you a good work out. There is approx 2 miles road, 2.5 miles paths, 1.25 miles grass.
It is also quite undulating with some pleasant views. It will be the toughest race in our series. Shoes: Road shoes should be OK unless it is very wet.
SUMMER SERIES
Well done everyone, a record turnout at Bowdon. It is a pity about the finish funnel causing problems, I did mention it to the organisers and they said they would sort it out for next time ! some of our members seemed to take it to heart, Nicky Mowatt throwing herself to the ground, and Paul Ayres missing the finish funnel completely.
The Warrington 10K is next and having had it re-measured was found to be 200 m over distance, some of you may be a bit quicker this year. Don’t miss the Gun Run as I’m sure it will provide talking points for months to come.
