    Caught up in Crewe!
As sole representative of WRC, I thought I had better pen a note.
Having failed on 2 occasions to break the 1.30 barrier it was time to dust down the shoes and get some serious practice for the Chester half.
I attended with Tony’s wisdom ringing in my ears:
“You’ll be alright, if you don’t finish you can walk . . .
Take 2 Nurofen after the race to stop the swelling . . .
    And DON’T run Monday!”
The first 5 miles was run at a steady pace then we encountered a ‘Small’ hill, the heavens opened up and it absolutely threw it down. After being overtook by Noah, and few more big hills to test my resolve it was time for hailstone, all I needed!
The few runners around looked like pathetic lost soles . . . and this was only the 12 mile mark! God knows what marathon runners go through.
Steady running at 7minute pace and the miles seem to take care of themselves; 12 became 14 then 16 and before I knew it the finish line was in sight across another muddy field. (sorry no sprint) They say the course is equivalent to a flat 22 and I believe ‘em!
It’s the first time I’ve run over ½m distance, Mission Accomplished, Time was Ok Too. Although I wish I had remembered the Vaseline!
24th Place out of 131 finishers, Time 2:23:56
